Brandon Lawson was a 26 year old father of 4 from San Angelo, Texas. Brandon had a fight with his girlfriend one evening in 2013 and drove off into the night. Then, at around 2 am, 911 got a call from Brandon and he was clearly in distress in the call. He was hard to make out but he had told police that somebody had chased him into the woods near a gas station and that he was bleeding. The call was cut off and it was the last that anybody heard of him. Common belief is that he stumbled on some sort of criminal activity and the people involved had seen him and shot or stabbed him. This is even more likely when you hear that Brandon had a warrant out for his arrest and still called 911 for help when he was being chased. As far as what it was that he came across or what happened to him after his phone call, nobody knows…and there has been no further information over what became of him. Number 9. Maura Murray Back in 2004, 21 year old, straight A nursing student, Maura Murray lost control of her car and crashed into a snow bank. She was spotted by a passerby but rejected any help that they offered; worried about her safety they phoned the police anyway. The police arrived on the scene just 10 minutes later, but when they got there, they found her car locked and Maura nowhere to be seen. There were no tracks in the snow leading away from the car and sniffer dogs couldn’t find any trace of her in the surrounding area. An investigation was formed around her disappearance and that is where things began to get strange. Maura had withdrawn $280 from her bank account on the night she had disappeared, it was also discovered that she sent an e-mail to her teacher lying about a passing away in the family. In her dorm room all of her belongings had been packed into boxes as if she was moving out, despite nobody knowing anything about it. To this day, whatever happened to Maura on the night of her accident remains a mystery. Number 8: Mayumi Arashi. In September of 1994, Mayumi Arashi disappeared after leaving her sister Yoko’s house one evening and saying that she was meeting with a friend, strangely when her friend was contacted, she stated that they had never agreed to meet at all. Her room was searched for clues and, while a note was found stating that she was meeting with somebody she identified as “A;” A was contacted…he acknowledged that they had met, but he offered no further information on it. There was little to no progress on the case until 2011 when a TV network interviewed Yoko and her father in an attempt to see how they were handling the disappearance. While her father was being interviewed, it was discovered that, while the father said nothing incriminating, there was a note on a shelf in the background saying “Dont believe what Yoko says.” Little is known about whether Yoko has been investigated or not, but it does bring an interesting twist on an already cold case. Number 7: Tara Calico. On September 20th, 1988, Tara left her home to go for her daily bike ride along her regular route. By the early evening, her mother realized that she should have been home by then and set off along her route to find her. Tara was nowhere to be found, but pieces of her Walkman were found in the road. When neighbors were questioned, it was discovered that some people had noticed a white van following her…but nobody had actually seen her get taken. 9 months after her disappearance, a mysterious Polaroid was found in a parking lot that showed a young woman and young boy bound and gagged with black duct tape. Although the boy was never identified, Tara’s parents identified her as the girl in the photo because of a scar on her leg that she had obtained in a car accident as a child. 20 years after Tara’s disappearance, Valencia County sheriff, Rene Rivera claimed to know who had taken Tara but that she had no evidence to bring them in or prosecute them. Number 6: The Shulze Family. In July 2015, the Shulze family, consisting of the father Marco, the mother Sylvia and their daughter Miriam disappeared from their home and only one of them was ever seen again. On July 24th, Sylvia’s boss reported her as missing, and the very same day, the police went to the house to investigate what might have happened.
